Spiced Chick Peas

Ingredients
- Masala Seasoning Mixture
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon red chili
- ½ teaspoon Celtic Sea Salt
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 3 teaspoons mango powder
- Chick Pea Mixture
- 2 16 ounce cans chick peas
- 3 medium tomatoes, peeled, seeded, and coarsely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- ½ teaspoon thyme
- ½ teaspoon rosemary
- ½ teaspoon nutritional flakes
- ½ teaspoon oregano
- ½ teaspoon
- 1 teaspoon masala seasoning mix
- ½ teaspoon honey
- Black pepper
- ½ teaspoon chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon dill
- 1 teaspoon marjoram
- 2 tablespoons peanut oil
- 1 teaspoon tamari
- ¼ teaspoon of chili powder
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Mix spices masala together and store in an airtight container. In a bowl, blend tomatoes with curry, ginger, dill, marjoram and masala spice mixture. Heat the oil in a skillet and saute the tomato mixture with tamari until golden brown. Lower heat and mash mixture with back of spoon to form a paste. Add chick peas and ½ cup of the liquid to the paste and cook for 5 minutes. Add hot chili powder and cayenne pepper to taste. If you prefer, you can lightly blend the chick pea mixture before serving. Good with brown rice.
