1 yam, or 1 small winter squash, cut into bite size pieces
1 celery stalk, sliced

Boil and simmer the split peas and water for 30 minutes or until the split peas softens. Skim off the foam. Add sea vegetable and onions. Simmer for 20 minutes. Add yam and celery. Simmer for 15 minutes or until soft. Season with herbs, honey, sugar, salt and pepper.
