Freeze the block of tofu in it’s package overnight. Defrost by putting package in hot water. When it is defrosted, remove the package, rinse the tofu and gently press out the excess water. Slice the tofu into slabs about ½ inch thick. Simmer the tofu slices in the marinade for 20 minutes on medium-low heat. Then drain the tofu slices and broil them for 3 minutes on each side before serving plain or with vegetarian gravy.
