Kasha Pasta

Ingredients
- 8 cups of water
- 3 cups of bow tie rice pasta
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- ¾ cup buckwheat, roasted (kasha)
- 1 tablespoon flax seeds, ground
- 1 ¾ cup of water
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- ½ teaspoon oregano
- ½ teaspoon basil
- ½ teaspoon thyme
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
- Celtic Sea Salt
- Black pepper
- 1 tablespoon flax oil
Instructions
- Bring 8 cups of water to a boil in a pot. Add pasta, reduce heat to medium and cook until soft, approximately 8 minutes. Remove from heat, drain well and place in a mixing bowl. While pasta is cooking, place oil in a pan on medium high heat. Add onion and garlic, cook for 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Add kasha and flax seeds, cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Slowly add 1 ¾ cup of water, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook until all the liquid is absorbed, approximately 15 minutes. Gently fluff with a fork, add to bowl with pasta. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
