Hazelnut Pate

Ingredients
- Dry ingredients
- 1 ½ cups hazelnut flour or finely ground hazelnuts
- ½ cup of spelt flour
- 3 teaspoons dried parsley
- ½ teaspoon oregano
- 1 ½ teaspoons dried basil
- 1 teaspoon Celtic Sea Salt
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- Several dashes cayenne pepper
- Wet ingredients
- 2 cups of water
- 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 3 tablespoons tamari
- 4 teaspoons horseradish
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 cup finely grated carrot
- ½ cup finely chopped and sautéed onions (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Mix all the wet ingredients in a separate bowl with the carrot. Lightly oil a 9 inch glass baking pan and scoop in the pate mixture. Bake about 40 minutes until set and browned. Let cool 2 hours and then chill before serving.
