Apple Pie

Ingredients
- The crust
- 2 cups of teff flour
- ½ cup of maple syrup
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon nutritional yeast
- 1 teaspoon molasses
- ½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
- ½ teaspoon Celtic Sea Salt
- The filling
- 5 large apples
- Pinch of Celtic Sea Salt
- ½ cup of water
- 1 tablespoon arrowroot
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix up the pie crust and reserve ½ cup of pie dough for the topping. Press the remainder of the dough into a lightly oiled pie pan. Poke holes in the dough with a fork. Bake for 10 minutes. While crust is baking thinly slice the apples. Place them in a 2 quart sauce pan with ¼ cup of water a and a pinch of sea salt. Simmer for about 20 minutes or until the apples are juicy and tender. Add the arrowroot and stir into apple mix. Stir in the cinnamon, nutmeg, honey, sugar, vanilla. Then pour the filling into the pie crust. Crumble the remaining pie dough on top. Bake for 10 minutes or until crumbs are slightly brown.
