Almond Cookies

Ingredients
- Wet ingredients
- ½ cup of maple syrup
- 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon almond butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- ½ teaspoon honey
- Dry ingredients
- 1 ¼ cups kamut flour
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup sliced almonds
- 2 tablespoons ground almonds
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon coconut sugar
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon Celtic Sea Salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Combine the wet ingredients thoroughly. In a separate bowl, sift together the dry ingredients. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix well. Flatten a handful of batter to ½ inch and smooth into a basic round shape on a well-oiled cookie sheet, or roll with a rolling pin and cut with cookie cutters. Whole almonds or natural candies can be used to decorate each one if desired. Bake 15 minutes and let the cookies cool on wire racks. The cookies will be soft, but will harden as they cool.
